Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle, you must be a minimum of 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type, with potential extra fees for drivers under 25. You need to possess a valid driving licence suited to the vehicle category, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and proof of current address are required, along with accurate payment details and a security deposit. Please ensure you meet any further criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Dagenham office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed to document the state of the car. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level, as refueling fees will be charged if it is not. Late returns may lead to additional fees, so please inform us right away if you expect to be late. You will be responsible for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibilities
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability. It's wise to review these options thoroughly. You are liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless additional coverage is acquired. Responsibility for damages resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains with you, regardless of insurance status.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. Activities such as racing, off-roading, or any form of reckless driving are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is also not allowed. Sub-letting to others or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. Ensure the vehicle is used according to its intended purpose and capacity, adhering to specified passenger and weight limits. Driving outside designated geographical areas without prior consent is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Dagenham is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated under English and Welsh law. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively within the English and Welsh courts.
